New Years Eve 2010 - After a full English breakfast, we will depart late morning for nearby stylish Windsor where the magnificent castle has been home to English monarchs for almost 1000 years. Browse the town’s shops, or take a stroll along the banks of the beautiful River Thames, or cross the pedestrian bridge into historic Eton, famous for its public school, or perhaps wander along a stretch of The Long Walk in Windsor Great Park. We will return to your hotel in plenty of time for you to get ready for the New Year’s Eve celebrations! Following an early dinner at your hotel at about 5pm, we will depart for central London to board a Thames River Cruiser and your New Year’s Eve party on the River Thames#. A welcome drink and light refreshments will be served buffet-style during your cruise as you dance the night away to the onboard disco. As midnight approaches, your boat will sail as close as possible to Westminster, for you to have the chance to hear Big Ben strike and to see the fireworks†. Let the countdown to midnight and the New Year begin! After disembarkation#, we will return to your hotel for your second night’s stay. (Central London and especially the area around the River Thames will be particularly busy after midnight, and therefore please be aware that it is anticipated that you will arrive back at your hotel between 2am and 3am).
New Years Day 2011 - Following a leisurely full English breakfast, we will commence our homeward journey in the late morning with a stop at a place of interest en-route, after a most memorable 3 day capital break with a difference!
# Clients may be required to walk a short distance to and from their coach to the Pier to embark/disembark their River Thames Cruiser.
† Important note: The boat’s pilot will make every best effort to secure a position on the River at midnight as close as possible to Big Ben and the fireworks, and whilst we do not anticipate too much difficulty, we must advise you that due to the amount of traffic on the river, this cannot be guaranteed. The choice of route the boat takes during its cruise on the River Thames will be at the discretion of the ship’s pilot. Seating onboard the Thames River Cruiser is occasional and depending on the Cruiser’s configuration, seating may not be available for all clients.
